Ambassador‘s economic diplomacy visit to Vancouver
On September 14-15, 2023, during the visit to Vancouver, British Columbia, H. E. Darius Skusevicius, Ambassador of Lithuania to Canada, represented Lithuania in several economic diplomacy events, relevant for the continued development of ties between Canada and Lithuania.
Ambassador attended the 25th Annual Life Sciences BC Awards Networking and Viewing Reception, reaffirming the continued partnership between Life Sciences BC and the Embassy that has been cultivated for the past three years. The event was a great opportunity to discuss bilateral economic partnerships between Canada and Lithuania in the fields of life science and environmental protection with industry experts.
Ambassador presented Lithuania’s economic and technological prowess and potential to the members of British Columbia business community at the event co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Canada and the EU Chamber of Commerce in Canada – West. The event was focused on reviewing the opportunities for bilateral trade and investment between Lithuania and Canada within the context of the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)
“I am happy, that both Lithuanian and Canadian interests coincide and are geared toward the development of technology and facilitation of growth in trade and science sectors. It is important to strengthen bilateral partnerships in FinTech, BioTech and Life Science fields and to promote networking and cooperation between professionals in both countries” – said Ambassador D. Skusevičius.
Ambassador also attended the inaugural meeting of Vancouver Lithuanian Business Club and invited for cooperation in strengthening the business connections between Lithuania and Canada.
