First Lithuanian diplomatic mission in Canada was established in 1937.
Gerald L. P. Grant-Suttie served as the first Honorary Consul of Lithuania.
Canada never recognized the forcible incorporation of Lithuania into the Soviet Union.
On 26 August 1991, Canada recognized the Independence of Lithuania.
