Changes to the application process to get a Permanent Resident Card

From September 1st, 2019, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Canada are no longer accepting Permanent Residence applications from foreign nationals.

Those applications must be submitted directly to the Migration Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania as for any consultations regarding this application process as well www.migracija.lt in Lithuania.

If a foreigner has applied for a Lithuanian residence permit or has applied to renew the expired residence permit, he is entitled to get a multiple entry national visa for the period of application handling procedures (up to 5 months), i.e. until he receives the permit.
