D. Skusevičius presented his letters of credence to Governor General of Canada
On 18 December, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Canada Darius Skusevičius presented his credentials to Her Excellency Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada.
“Making ties, talking to each other, creating alliances to prevent conflict. Diplomacy is something we have always done.” – told Governor General of Canada during her speech.
After the ceremony, the Ambassador and Governor General of Canada discussed possibilities for strengthening cooperation between Lithuania and Canada, cooperation in the international organizations, plans to increase cooperation between Lithuania in Canada in 2020.
Lithuania and Canada restored diplomatic relationships on 2 September, 1991. Darius Skusevičius is the 7th ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Canada after the restoration of Lithuania’s independence.
