Happy Canada Day!
On the 1st July 2020, Canada celebrates its 153rd birthday. On the occasion of the National Day of Canada, the highest state officials of the Republic of Lithuania have forwarded their official greetings to the Governor General of Canada, Prime Minister of Canada, Speakers of the House of Commons and Senate and to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“I am extremely grateful for Canada’s contribution to strengthening the security of Baltic States. Canada’s determination to lead the Enhanced Forward Presence Battalion in one of the Baltic States is a crucial security and deterrence factor throughout the region” – writes His Excellency Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania.
Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, Viktoras Pranckietis, stressed in his greeting a successful bilateral cooperation and long lasting partnership of both countries in international organisations.
“I am certain that our countries will continue in the same spirit of fruitful cooperation. Lithuania and Canada, being likeminded on most key issues, can further join efforts on countering disinformation, supporting the international rules-based system and most importantly – reinforcing the trans-Atlantic link“– highlights Saulius Skvernelis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania.
Linas Linkevičius, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, emphasized in his greeting the importance of global efforts in strengthening of multilateralism, human rights and media freedom.
“The numerous greetings on the occasion of Canada Day represent our excellent state of bilateral relations. Together with my colleagues of the Embassy of Lithuania in Canada, I am happy to greet all Canadians, including Canadian Lithuanian community, for its continued efforts to foster bilateral relations between our two countries” – says Darius Skusevičius, Ambassador of Lithuania to Canada.
