Join us virtually for the events in Ottawa and Toronto held on October 1-3
This year Lithuania and Canada are marking the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations. To celebrate the occasion, the Embassy of Lithuania to Canada and The Lithuanian Canadian Community Toronto chapter together with partners in Ottawa and Toronto are organizing celebratory events on October 1-3, 2021. All the events will be streamed live online, we invite you to join us virtually (all times indicated in ETD).
At the event held at the National Gallery of Canada on October 1st, starting at 6:00pm, Josée Drouin-Brisebois from National Gallery of Canada will present her work curating the 13th edition of Kaunas Biennial – one of the largest international contemporary art festivals in the Baltic region. We will also introduce you to the co-create festival of “Kaunas 2022 – European Capital of Culture” and present the live concert performance by renowned Lithuanian artists: tenor Rafailas Karpis and pianist Darius Mažintas. On October 2nd in Toronto at Anapilis Halls Lithuanian Museum-Archives of Canada will present the special exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of restored diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Canada. Distinguished members of Canadian-Lithuanian Community will be acknowledged for their activities three decades ago when Lithuania was regaining its independence. Lithuanian artists R. Karpis and D. Mažintas will present the musical program exclusively prepared for the occasion. On October 3rd at the Holly Blossom Temple in Toronto Lithuanian artists R. Karpis and D. Mažintas will perform the special programmme “A Letter from the Past: Yiddish Songs”.
