The Embassy of Lithuania to Canada, Lithuanian Canadian Community (KLB) and all chapters of KLB invite you to remotely celebrate the Day of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania. Even though we are separated by distance, let’s celebrate together as one Lithuanian family across the world. In this article you will find a list of virtual events in Canada and around the world.
Three ways to celebrate March 11 together across Canada.
1. On March 11 Lithuanians of the world will be brought together by a festive concert from the Seimas!
- The concert will be broadcast on LRT Plus and LRT Lituanica channels, on the portal LRT.LT and on St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra and Lithuanian World Community Facebook accounts March 11th. 7:15 p.m. Lithuanian time.
- Can't make the concert live? No problem! The recording will be made available on LRT.lt/Mediateka
2. Visit online exhibit “Canada's Contribution to Lithuania's Road to Independence 1987-2004"
- Let's be proud of and appreciate our nation’s freedom as we celebrate the Restoration of Lithuania’s Independence this March 11th!
- Take a virtual walk down the long and winding path that led to independence by visiting the Lithuanian Museum-Archives of Canada’s online exhibit.

3. KLJS Trivia Game in Honour of Lithuania's Independence
- The trivia link will be launched on March 11th at 9am EST! To celebrate the reinstitution of Lithuania's independence, compete against your friends and family about your general knowledge of Lithuania. The top 3 scorers will receive a prize!

Ways to join March 11th events across the world
On Tuesday, March 9 at 12pm ET - On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Restoration of the Independence of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Embassy in London has the pleasure of inviting you to a special presentation of Lithuania's choice for Academy Awards 2021: Nova Lituania directed by Karolis Kaupinis.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with the director of Nova Lituania, Karolis Kaupinis and the historian of architecture Vaidas Petrulis. This will be streamed on Facebook here.

On March 10, 13:00 (EST) and 20:00 (EET) - The Lithuanian Embassy in Washington invites you to celebrate the restoration of Lithuania's Independence together and on March 10, joining the conversation with Lithuanian guides to Independent Lithuania and Washington.
This year, the Lithuanian community in the United States is celebrating its 70th anniversary. On the way to Independence, the Lithuanian community in the United States was a particularly important pillar and aid of Lithuanians liberating from the Soviet system. The participants of the event united Vilnius and Washington, shared their memories and let us move to the Restoration Seimas, the then Lithuanian Ambassador to the USA, the editorial board of the American Voice and the Lithuanian community in the very dawn of the restoration of Lithuania's independence.

- Arvydas Barzdukas, an active member of the LAC in the USA. the office of the LAC Public Affairs Council was established;
- Laimutė Pilukaitė, 1990 Supreme Council - Secretariat of the Seimas of Restoration;
- Virginija Vengrienė, long-term collaborator of the Lithuanian branch of the Voice of America.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Asta Petraitytė - Briedienė, historian of Vytautas Magnus University Diaspora Institute. "Duration of the event" - 1 hour 30 minutes. The event will also be broadcast live on the embassy’s Facebook account.

On Saturday, March 13 from 3-5 pm ET - On the occasion of the Lithuania's Independence Restoration Day the Consulate General of Lithuania in Los Angeles and the Lithuanian Theater, Music and Cinema Museum invite you to a presentation of the exhibition 'The Singing Revolution' (curator Dario Martinelli) followed by the discussion and Q&A with historians (Luka Sinevičienė, Darius Juodis), musicians, and participants (Algirdas Kaušpėdas, Arvydas Juozaitis, Darius Polikaitis, Virgis Stakėnas, Ignas Marcinkevičius) of 'The March of Rock' - peaceful events that contributed to the collapse of the Soviet Union.
