LITHUANIAN DELEGATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 37th SESSION OF THE ICAO ASSEMBLY
A Lithuanian Delegation of civil aviation experts will participate in the the 37th Session of the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which is being held on September 28-October 8, 2010 in Montreal. The Lithuanian delegation, headed by Tomas Karpavičius, the Adviser to the Minister of Transport and Communications, also includes Kęstutis Auryla, Director of the Civil Aviation Department, and Agnė Katkutė, Deputy Director of the Ministry's Road and Civil Aviation Department.
The Assembly meets at least every three years. ICAO's 190 Member States as well as international organizations will attend the Assembly, which establishes the Organization's global policy.
The 37th Session will review ICAO implemented programmes and approve the Organization‘s budget. The Assembly‘s agenda includes such questions as the development of global civil aviation safety and security measures, which aim to increase the efficiency of aviation operations. This Session will also address environmental protection issues.
