LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER ACQUAINTED MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND THE COMMITTEE ON EUROPEAN AFFAIRS WITH LITHUANIA’S OSCE CHAIRMANSHIP
On 10 January at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis acquainted members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on European Affairs of the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania with the plans and priorities of Lithuania’s Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and with his own planned visits as the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
Minister A.Ažubalis and Members of the Seimas discussed the ongoing consultations that look for the solution, which would allow the OSCE to continue its activities in Belarus.
Such Members of the Seimas as Vilija Aleknaitė Abramikienė, Vytenis Andriukaitis, Dailis Barakauskas, Justinas Karosas, Česlovas Stankevičius and Emanuelis Zingeris attended the meeting.
Lithuania took over the Chairmanship of the OSCE from Kazakhstan on 1 January 2011.
