PRESENTATION OF LITHUANIA’S OSCE CHAIRMANSHIP WORK PROGRAMME IN VIENNA BEGAN WITH THE COMMEMORATION OF THE VICTIMS OF JANUARY 13

On 12 January in the Congress Centre at the Hofburg Imperial Palace, Vienna, the presentation of the Lithuanian OSCE Chairmanship Work Programme began with performance of the Dzukian Variations by composer Bronius Kutavičius in commemoration of the victims of January 13.

The Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra gave the inaugural concert.

A.Ažubalis, R.NorkusThe concert also featured music by Jonas Tamulionis, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Piotr Tchaikovsky.

 "Lithuania will contribute to the OSCE's important work as much as possible and will make every effort to defend the freedom of the media, free choice and democratic values," the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis stressed when delivering a welcoming speech at the solemn event.
