Strengthening Lithuania–Canada Cooperation in Cybersecurity
On October 16, the Embassy of Lithuania in Canada, in cooperation with one of Canada's most influential security policy and defense think tanks — the Conference of Defense Associations Institute (CDAI) — organized a discussion in Ottawa titled "Cybersecurity and Opportunities for Advanced Transatlantic Cooperation."
During the event, Antanas Aleknavičius, Director of Lithuania’s National Cyber Security Centre (NKSC), presented Lithuania's cybersecurity ecosystem, its future prospects, and emphasized the importance of strengthening cyber resilience and international cooperation.
The discussion was moderated by Wendy Gilmour, Vice Chair of the CDAI Board of Directors, former Canadian Ambassador to Pakistan, and former NATO Assistant Secretary General. The panel discussion featured: Imraan Bashir, Partner at KPMG Canada and National Cybersecurity Leader for the Public Sector, recognized as one of the world’s leading cybersecurity experts; Nicolas Duguay, Executive Director of the Canadian cybersecurity cluster In-Sec-M; and Antanas Aleknavičius, Director of the NKSC.
Panelists discussed opportunities for transatlantic cooperation, innovation, and strengthening cyber resilience, highlighting the importance of trusted partnerships between Canada, Lithuania, and the international community.
