The fourth anniversary of Russia’s war against Ukraine was commemorated in Canada with major events supporting Ukraine
On February 23, 2026, the NATO Association of Canada (NAOC), the Embassy of Lithuania in Canada, the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada organized a panel discussion titled “Charting Ukraine’s Pathway Toward a Just Peace with Canada & NATO Allies.” The event was dedicated to commemorating the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The event in Ottawa brought together more than 150 senior government representatives, policymakers, defence leaders, politicians, diplomats, and members of the diaspora, who reaffirmed their solidarity with Ukraine and discussed how to ensure a sustainable and just path for the country’s reconstruction.
Speakers included former Canadian Minister of National Defence and current Chair of the NATO Association of Canada David Collenette; Members of Parliament Yvan Baker, James Bezane, and Martin Champoux; and the Ambassador of Lithuania to Canada Egidijus Meilūnas. The panel also featured detailed insights from His Excellency Andrii Plakhotniuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada; Her Excellency Tjorven Bellmann, Ambassador of Germany to Canada; and Ms. Jocelyn Kinnear, Director General of the Ukraine Task Force at Global Affairs Canada.

To mark the fourth anniversary of Russia’s war against Ukraine, a public solidarity event was also held near the Canadian Parliament, drawing a large crowd of concerned citizens. Numerous other gatherings and events of various formats were also organized across Canada.
