"The Star of Lithuanian Diplomacy is awarded to Ali Cyrus Ehsassi, Chairman of the House of Commons Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development
On the 24th of February, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Canada, E. Meilūnas, presented the "Star of Lithuanian Diplomacy" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania to Mr. Ali Cyrus Ehsassi, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada, for strengthening bilateral relations between Lithuania and Canada.
Ambassador thanked Mr. Ehsassi for his long-standing and purposeful efforts in strengthening parliamentary relations between Lithuania and Canada and for his significant contribution to the implementation of initiatives of importance to Lithuania. "You have personally contributed to strengthening the partnership between Lithuania and Canada. We also greatly appreciate your consistent support for Ukraine in its struggle against brutal russian aggression," said Mr. Meilūnas.
Representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Ottawa and Ukrainian-Canadian organisations, who attended the award ceremony, also thanked Ali Ehassi for his consistent and strong support for Ukraine, for his contribution to the initiatives in support of Ukraine, and for rallying the support of the international community for Ukraine.
The "Star of Lithuanian Diplomacy" is an award given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania for promoting Lithuania abroad and fostering interstate relations. It has been awarded since 2010.
