TWO NEW HONORARY CONSULS IN CANADA

Addressing the assembled guests, Ambassador Ginte Damusis said she had no doubt that the appointments of Ms. Nijole Korris and Mr. Paul Kuras would contribute to strengthening bilateral business and educational ties, promoting Lithuanian culture and facilitating new partnerships for Lithuania in Canada.
Nijole Korris, Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Edmonton, has been Chief Executive Officer of “The Sponsorship Group Ltd.” since 1997 and consults in the area of strategic planning, financial management and personnel supervision. She recently assumed a position at Alberta Justice. From 1995 to 1997, she served as General Manager of the Edmonton Opera Association. Ms. Korris will represent Lithuanian interests in Alberta, a province of 3.6 million people.
Paul Kuras, Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Toronto, has worked in the pharmacy industry for thirty years, and is an expert in management and strategic planning. After serving as Vice-President of Shoppers Drug Mart, one of Canada’s largest pharmacy chains, he is now owner of a Shoppers Drug Mart franchise. From 2007-2008, Paul Kuras served as President of the Canadian Pharmacists Association. Mr. Kuras will represent Lithuanian interests in Ontario, a province of over 12 million.
