Virtual meeting with Honorary Consuls of Lithuania in Canada
The Embassy of Lithuania hosted an annual meeting with Lithuanian honorary consuls in Canada (BC, AB, ON, QC) on February 25th.
The meeting's agenda included the overview of the activities of honorary consuls in 2020. Despite the pandemic, the honorary consuls actively participated in virtual projects and joined the initiatives of the Embassy and the community. The start of 2020 was marked with the successful celebratory events for the 30th anniversary of the Restoration of the Independence of Lithuania in Toronto and Montreal.
The Embassy and the honorory consuls hope that physical activities can be resumed across Canada once the restrictions are lifted. The participants discussed plans for 2021, collaboration with Lithuanian community organizations in provinces, strengthening bilateral collaboration of the provinces, consular questions. The participants agreed to have such discussions quarterly.
